This is very disappointing. When branding assets are provided, it is the designer's responsibility to adhere to the branding and create the design accordingly. In this instance, the buyer kept distancing themselves from their own branding and referenced a completely different report style as inspiration. We duly obliged and created it accordingly. All the designs are created on Adobe InDesign / Illustrator and it takes time to craft the design however we were being rushed every step of the way. We accommodated the buyer by going out of our way and scheduling multiple zoom calls in which less revisions and more brainstorming occurred, but the requests kept piling up and they then wanted all design work to be done live via zoom. We even accommodated the client during the festive holidays and clearly specified that since we're short staffed (freelancers deserve some break at the end of the year as well!!), another team-member would complete the revisions as the Project Manager was travelling. The original design of the report was wonderful but when the buyer decides to hold the hand of the freelancer and disrupt the creative flow, the end result is a rather tone-down / simple version of the design and there's really not much we can do about it unfortunately.
